Warnings from the National Weather Service show at the top of the main screen, for places in the United States. Each place's warnings show when you switch to that place. They're checked every 5 minutes while the app is open, but not while it's closed, so keep a phone or weather radio for emergencies. Click a warning to hear it.

Reads each new warning for the place on screen once, without a click. So the app never starts talking the moment it opens, this begins after the first click or key press each time the app is opened. Until then, the warning still shows, and Read aloud includes it.
